Teardrop, angle or wrecking ball: which heavy bag shape?
In short
We make three shaped heavy bags: the angle uppercut bag (36 in tall, built around uppercuts), the teardrop (44 in, for hooks, uppercuts, clinch work and knees) and the wrecking ball (24 in and round, for uppercuts, body shots and knees), in vinyl or leather. All are made in USA with a lifetime warranty.

Next to our straight heavy bags, we make three shaped bags: the angle uppercut bag, the teardrop and the wrecking ball. Each one is shaped for close-range work. Here is how they compare, and which one fits how you train.
The three shapes at a glance
| Shape | Body height | Width | Filled weight | Made for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Angle uppercut | 36 in | 18 in at the top, 11 in at the bottom | About 65 lb | Uppercuts, hooks, body shots |
| Teardrop | 44 in | 20 in across | About 55 to 60 lb | Hooks, uppercuts, body shots, clinch work, knee strikes |
| Wrecking ball, vinyl | 24 in | 22 in across | About 65 lb | Uppercuts, body shots, knee strikes |
| Wrecking ball, leather | 24 in | 20 in across | About 80 lb | Uppercuts, body shots, knee strikes |
Heights are the bag body, without the straps.

Angle uppercut bag
The angle bag tapers from 18 in across at the top to 11 in at the bottom. That angled face gives you a target for upward strikes, so it's built around uppercuts, with hooks and body shots too. It's 36 in tall, and its straps add 10 in to the total length when it hangs. An optional bottom D-ring lets you tie it down for more stability and less swing.

Teardrop bag
The tallest of the three at 44 in, and 20 in across at its widest. The teardrop shape works for hooks and uppercuts, body shots, clinch work and knee strikes. Its shell is 22 oz rip-stop vinyl-coated polyester, and it hangs from triple-stitched straps on chrome D-rings.

Wrecking ball
A round bag, 22 in across and 24 in tall, about 65 lb filled. Its compact shape puts the target where uppercuts, body shots and knee strikes land, and it fits tighter spaces than a long bag. It comes in vinyl, or in full grain cowhide leather: the leather wrecking ball is 20 in across, about 80 lb filled, with a laced leather lid, and it ships with a steel clip chain to hang it.

Which shape for you?
| If you mostly train | Look at |
|---|---|
| Uppercuts | The angle uppercut bag |
| Hooks, uppercuts and clinch work | The teardrop |
| Knees and short-range power, in a small space | The wrecking ball |
| Long combinations and kicks | A straight bag: see what size heavy bag to buy |
What they have in common
- Made in USA
- Shipped filled or unfilled
- A lifetime warranty
- Ten colors for each vinyl shape; black, tan or brown for the leather wrecking ball
Hanging them
All three weigh well under the 250 lb our ceiling mount holds. The vinyl bags hang on a nylon strap and a carabiner rather than a chain; the leather wrecking ball hangs from the chain it ships with. Our guide on how to hang a heavy bag covers mounts, stands and hardware.
